Will Never Forgive Pragya Thakur for Her Remarks on ‘Bapu’, says PM Modi

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned that he will never be able to forgive Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Bhopal candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party, over her remark on ‘Bapu’.

The controversy which was started on Thursday after Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur said Godse was a patriot. Similar remarks were made in favour Godse by a controversial leader from Karnataka, Ananth Kumar Hegde and Nalin Kumar Katil made similar remarks over Godse.

On Friday, Bharatiya Janata Party also cracked the whip on controversial statements by three senior party leaders over Nathuram Godse. Further, BJP has decided to take disciplinary action against its three leaders.

During his campaign on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The statements are very condemnable and it should be criticized. There is no space for such language and thinking in the country.

People who make such statements will have to think 100 times in future. I will never be able to forgive those who made these statements.”

BJP President, Amit Shah shared his view on Friday. He said, “Statements of Ananth Kumar Hegde, Pragya Thakur and Nalin Kateel are their personal opinion, BJP has nothing to do with it. They have withdrawn their statements and apologized. BJP has taken their statements seriously and sent these statements to the disciplinary committee.”

Shah added that all the three leaders have been asked to explain their respective statements and the disciplinary committee would submit its report in ten days.

Ahead of the polls, BJP leadership does not want controversial statements of party leaders to ruin its election campaign which is based on development and national security.

Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have constantly asked BJP leaders not to speak out of turn and make controversial statements which will reinforce the opposition parties.
