#SareeTwitter Trend: Politicians and Actors Winning the Internet and Hearts

Next in the queue of numerous trends taking the internet on the storm, is the #SatreeTwitter trend. The #SareeTwitter trend began earlier this week and has seen celebrities and politicians sharing pictures of their favorite sarees on the microblogging website.

The trending #SareeChallenge has swayed all ladies on twitter. A saree is a statement of elegance, boldness rather than just being gorgeous and feminine. The challenge brought in tweets from women of all domain, whether working or a home-maker. Women took to Twitter to post their graceful saree photographs.

As mentioned, under the #SareeTwitter trend, people are posting their pics with their favorite saree. So, are you thinking why we said here are people, despite women or girls? The reason being a Bollywood actor and heartthrob Ayushmaan Khurana.

The actor took to twitter sharing his photograph in a saree. It is a hilarious yet smart move to promote his upcoming film Dream Girl. Ayushmann’s followers look up to his creativity, in his poetries and music. This time he stood up to his standards. We are sure Ayushmann can make a good marketing strategist with such creative promotions. In the photograph, Ayushmann is sitting on a scooter. He is draped in a blue saree and his expressions just leave us to hysterics.

Meanwhile, Congress general Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also winning Twitter with two posts. In the first post, she wrote, “Morning puja on the day of my wedding (22 years ago!),” the 47-year-old captioned the photo that shows her in a pink Banarasi saree. The tweet immediately prompted ‘happy anniversary’ posts. Later on, she clarified in another tweet that it wasn’t her anniversary.

Once the confusion was cleared, Priyanka did not shy away though from teasing her husband and sent her Twitter followers in a frenzy with her adorable banter. Teasing her husband, Robert Vadra she tweeted, “(@irobertvadra, you can still take me out for dinner!).” How adorable it was!!

It seems like the fever of #SareeTwitter is definitely not dying down as the number of tweets posted with the hashtag is only increasing.
