A TikTok and a social media celebrity Mohit Mor with more than half a million followers was shot dead near Delhi on Tuesday. Mohit Mor, a 24-year-old fitness trainer would frequently upload fitness videos on his Instagram and TikTok profiles.
On Tuesday, Mor was at a photocopy shop nearby to visit his friend at around 5 in the evening when he was murdered by three gunmen.
Mor was sitting on the sofa when three unidentified gunmen on the bike arrived and entered the shop and triggered five straight bullets into him. However, a senior police officer quoted that a total of thirteen bullets was fired at him.
Among three gunmen, faces of the two were covered with helmets. However, the third wasn’t covered and can easily be identified in the CCTV footage.
A senior police officer quoted saying, “When Mohit Mor was busy talking with his friend inside the shop, three armed persons barged inside the shop and indiscriminately fired 13 bullets on him. Mohit Mor fell on a sofa kept inside the shop. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.”
The purpose of murder is been investigated by the police. Gang violence has been ruled out by them as a factor behind the killing.
The senior police officer shared the carryforwards to crack the case as soon as possible. He added, “We are checking his Tik Tok and Instagram accounts comments and Call Details Record (CDR) to establish his enmity with anyone on social media that may help us to crack the case.”
The officer further added, “Prima facie, it appears a case of personal enmity and a money dispute.”.
As per the sections of the Indian Penal Code, police has registered the case under relevant sections and the probe has been initiated. The incident occurred after two suspected criminals were killed in a shootout near Dwarka Mor metro station.
